Calling all New York City Artists! Fight Bigotry and Throw an Event at the Same Time!

The Artists Against Anti-immigrant Bigotry Coalition is sponsoring events all over NYC April 3rd - 21st.

Artists have historically been at the forefront of countering bigotry in the United States. Now, artist communities from across the country are standing up once again to renounce hate and bigotry.

Center for New Community, a national civil rights organization and the blog Imagine 2050 are sponsoring 25 events around NYC with $200.00 each.  One of them could be yours.

Out of those 25 events, the one that displays “Artists Against Anti-Immigrant Bigotry” most creatively will win an additional $500!

Here’s how it works:

Any event that relates to arts and culture is eligible. Music shows, community events, visual arts events, etc. are all welcome to submit for sponsorship.

The event must take place from April 3 to April 16, 2010.

The event must display the Coalition's sponsorship information in one of the following ways:

- On promotional fliers for the event.

- On a banner displayed at the event.

- On a promotional poster for the event.

OR

- By incorporating the message 'Artists Against Anti-Immigrant Bigotry' into artwork or other creative means for display at the event.

Proof of sponsorship must be submitted to Imagine2050.net in one of the following ways:

- Photograph of the materials displaying the sponsorship message.

- Video taken from the event that displays the sponsorship message.

The winner will receive a $700 cash prize, and will be prominently featured on imagine2050.net. 24 runners-up will win $200 each. All of the 25 sponsors will be features on the Imagine 2050 blog and at future Imagine 2050 events.

- Contestants agree that upon submitting an entry to license it under a creative commons that gives us the rights to post your video or photographs on our website (www.imagine2050.org)

- Entry(ies) must be an original creation and not contain the intellectual property of another person or company.

- Entries containing obscene material will not be accepted

- Participants may submit for more than one event.

Submissions will be judged on creativity, technical merit, originality and overall impact.

- The first 25 submissions that meet the specified guidelines will receive a $200.00 sponsorship. The winner of the additional $500.00 prize will be judged on creativity, technical merit, originality and overall impact. The winners will be chosen at the discretion of the Imagine 2050 selection committee.
