For Parents
Parents have an important role to play in responding to white power music. The golden rule that must guide all of their actions is "we will not demonize all youth subcultures."
Loud music and combat boots are not the indicators of white power music. Racism, anti-Semitism, homophobia, and other forms of bigotry are such indicators.
For advice on how to respond to white power music, please read the section for parents from our Turn It Down Resource Kit (on-line soon).
Also, please consult our database of white power symbols, white power bands list, and our lexicon of hate - recognizing youth recruitment by white supremacists is the first step in countering it.
For Teachers
Teachers occupy a unique position in responding to white power music. They are given the opportunity to educate their students to the dangers of hate rock, inoculating them to its hatred and violence. Please read the section for teachers from the Turn It Down Resource Kit.
